Episode 069, Part 2 - The Season Wraps.
Here we are at the second and final part of Episode 069, the two-part episode that wraps up Season 5 of Cheftimony. Returning as co-host is my food-loving, Vegas-living, wonderful friend Keren from the outstanding 360 Vegas Podcast. Together, Keren and I explore more great food options in Las Vegas, past and present, including Keren’s current two-part recommendation, Anima and EDO. I’ve been to one, and now must get to the other!
Today, Keren and I talk through restaurant musings from Chef Nicole Brisson, the culinary powerhouse behind Brezza and Bar Zazu on the Vegas Strip, and from the always-engaging Scott Roeben of the Vital Vegas media empire. Chef Nicole reminisces about Louis’s Fish Camp by Chef Carlos Guia, ex-Commander’s Palace (of which there was one in Las Vegas!) and points us today, among other places, to Other Mama and Black Sheep (and Chef agrees with Keren about Anima too!).
Scott looks back fondly to Old Homestead steakhouse at Caesars Palace and we dive into some of the almost endless variety of steakhouses Las Vegas now offers. These days, Scott is liking Don’s Prime at Fountainbleau. For more budget-friendly options, Scott tells us about the chicken tenders at the Rio Food Hall and a pot roast sandwich and a two-dollar hotdog and beer, both at the Downtown Grand. Scott and I round out our talk looking back on an amazing dinner at Oscar’s Steakhouse at the Plaza.
All this plus my thoughts on why Las Vegas is an ideal vehicle for meditation on the impermanent and some rather big personal news at the end of the show. Join us all, Vegas awaits!
