The Cheftimony Backstory

The second intro episode of the podcast explains the backstory of Cheftimony. About a decade ago, I made a change in my legal career that gave me more time to focus on interests outside the office. And for me, the main interest has always been cooking. I explored a few options for improving my cooking skills - practice at home, taking classes for “serious amateurs”. But in the end, those weren’t enough. I knew I needed practice, lots of it. And I began to think that maybe the best place to get that practice was in the one place they cook all day every day, a restaurant kitchen. One letter and a memorable interview later, and I was in! Here’s the story of how I added a cooking shift to the end of a day of legal work, every Thursday for a few happy years.
