Cheftimony Episode 050 – Roommates
My two guests today are former college roommates who have gone on to careers that fit perfectly with the Cheftimony Podcast. I connected with Will Korman over Instagram where he goes by the great handle @willthecookinglawyer. Will is a criminal defense attorney in Boston who loves to cook at home and share pictures of his creations on social media. We dive into the food scene in Boston, some of Will’s favourite hashtags for his cooking (#onlyguiltyofdeliciousness), and just why Will makes pickles every Sunday.
Will also put me in touch with his college roommate Matt Curtin who is a partner in the ominously-named Sing Sing Kill Brewery, a farm brewery and taproom in Ossining, New York. Matt and I have a great talk about his brewery’s name (the “kill” isn’t what you might think it is), and also about the importance of environmental sustainability for Sing Sing Kill, and a couple of great beer recommendations now that the weather is growing warmer.
It was real a pleasure to speak with these two roommates who remain friends many years later and who share such a passion for the culinary world. My talks with Matt and Will even prompted me to reach out to my law school roommate Iain Dixon, and Iain pops in at the beginning of the show to talk about our dubious wine-making efforts way back in the 1990s in Vancouver.
So pour your favourite summer beer or other beverage, and join all the roommates for Episode 050 of Cheftimony.
