Cheftimony Episode 052 – Snapshots
Here is a quick episode featuring a new offering on the podcast: the Cheftimony Snapshot. These are quick interviews to capture something that’s happening right now: the latest with a chef, a new restaurant you might want to try, or – like today – the current state of the culinary scene in a given location.
Today’s first Snapshot is with Paul Haldane, Chef at Persephone Brewing Company in my hometown of Gibsons, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. Paul and I caught up in the chicken orchard at the beer farm, and you’ll hear what’s happening right now on the Coast. There’s a lot going on, from Salt & Swine to Molly’s Reach to The Drift, Buono Osteria, Smitty’s Oyster House, Lunitas, Pink House Bistro, and more.
Next, I return (virtually) to Las Vegas for a talk with lawyers Laura Tucker and Rajan Dhungana. These two know the food and craft beer scenes in Nevada very well, and I’m adding some new spots to my must-visit-in-Vegas list based on our talk. Bazaar Meat has been on the list for quite some time, and Laura and Rajan will be heading there too for an overdue celebratory dinner. New on my list after talking with Rajan and Laura are The Beast, SoulBelly BBQ and Coffee Religion. Oh, I must try this dessert recipe that Laura describes on the show today!
