Cheftimony Snack: Writers’ Block
On today’s short snack-sized episode, I look back at the very recent Annual General Meeting of the Vancouver Bar Association where – as I do every year – I just played the bagpipes to help the head table make an entrance.
I also look ahead to some exciting upcoming interviews, and in particular to a few involving food writers. One of these writers publishes as widely as Serious Eats and the New York Times, one has an identity I can’t reveal, and a third just published an amazing cookbook. I’m excited to have those talks and to share them with you. I’m also excited about an interview scheduled for next week with another lawyer with whom I share both a passion for food and a professional alma mater. Fun!
Also on today’s show – a look back at an interview earlier this week with an awesome duo behind a roving coffee business in Vancouver and a wee rant about regulation in the food industry and how it can make things very, very challenging for the small, independent operations I’d love to see thrive.
I also renew my goal of interviewing hosts of the two podcasts – one on politics and one on Las Vegas – that inspired me to start Cheftimony. One of those hosts, Scott Roeben of Vital Vegas, has already appeared on the podcast, but I’ve yet to interview Emily Bazelon, one of three hosts of Slate’s Political Gabfest. I don’t know whether that will come to pass or not. Fingers crossed!
Hey! Please take a minute to rate Cheftimony (on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen) and, if you have a few more minutes, to leave a written review for the show. Doing either of those things really helps other people to find the show. It would mean a great deal – thanks for considering it.
OK, on to the show… take a few minutes and join me for this week’s snack!
