Cheftimony Episode 039 – Artie Choke

One of the realities of life in the kitchen is that the output, no matter how creative and delicious, is ephemeral. It doesn’t last

Today on the show, you’ll hear from one of the forces behind Vancouver’s anonymous kitchen scene ‘zine, Choke the Zine. Mr. Artie Choke, as I now know him, dropped by Cheftimony studios, remotely and anonymously, to talk about just why he started this free publication.

One of the realities of life in the kitchen is that the output, no matter how creative and delicious, is ephemeral. It doesn’t last. So Artie started Choke as a way to create something more permanent. It’s also his way of connecting with other cooks who share the same rewarding but incredibly challenging career.

Today you’ll hear an insider’s view of the culinary world and you’ll also hear about Diligent Dave, Choke’s advice columnist. Dave’s credentials include a masters degree in philosophy and 23 years of dishwashing in eight different countries. If you’ve got a kitchen-related question, concern, conundrum, or query, get in touch with Dave!

To follow along with everything Artie and the Choke team are up to, head to the Choke website, and follow them on InstagramFacebook, and Twitter.
