Cheftimony Episode 023 – In Vino Veritas
Today we finally tackle the subject of wine, and I’m delighted to welcome guests from both the restaurant and the legal worlds. Joining me first is Kelcie Jones, Wine Director at Vancouver’s Chambar Restaurant. Kelcie and I have a great talk that ranges from wine service to organic farming in the south of France to that age-old question: can sommeliers really enjoy a $10 bottle of pizza wine?
After my talk with Kelcie, I head to a busy downtown café to speak with Bruno De Vita, QC, a colleague from the world of law who also happens to be a devoted wine enthusiast and, I was delighted to learn, a serious home cook. Bruno and I discuss wine regions that offer great value, the joys of cooking at home, and how we might all improve our experiences enjoying wine in restaurants.
I also asked Kelcie and Bruno for some of their favourite wines and regions. Without giving away everything they spoke of on the show, I can say that Kelcie pointed to what sounds like a delicous rosé, while Bruno made an excellent case for a white and a rosé of his own. I can only say that all three wines are now on my must-try list.
So now… pour a glass of your choosing, and join me for Cheftimony’s exploration of wine!
