Cheftimony Episode 037 – Anthropology

In our talk today, Sarah and I dive into restaurant culture, the impact on it of COVID-19, and just what lessons we might learn from the current pandemic.

On the show today, I connect with a fellow podcaster, Sarah Duignan of the amazing AnthroDish Podcast. Sarah and I met, virtually as we do these days, originally through Instagram. And we connected more recently for a virtual interview between British Columbia and Ontario.

Sarah is a Ph.D. candidate in anthropology at McMaster University, where she studies the anthropology of health. But Sarah is also a food lover, with experience working in the restaurant industry. And despite her interest in food, Sarah’s academic work tends to focus more on big picture health so, like many food lovers I know, Sarah started a passion project. And hers is the AnthroDish Podcast, one I highly recommend. Sarah has great guests, and the conversations on AnthroDish are insightful and intelligent.

In our talk today, Sarah and I dive into restaurant culture, the impact on it of COVID-19, and just what lessons we might learn from the current pandemic. It was such a pleasure to have Sarah on the show, and I’m sure you’re going to appreciate her thoughts. Also today, I look ahead to an interview with Jessie Sheehan, a former lawyer who is now a baker, recipe developer, and cookbook author. Our talk will be coming up soon on Cheftimony.

Now though, press play and join me for my talk with anthropologist, podcaster, and food lover, Sarah Duignan.
